Another first-time customer in the middle of the night

What kind of animal is in this picture?
The photo isn't very clear, but I tried searching for a small animal with white fur, but I couldn't find anything. I don't usually see them in this area.

The black areas are shadows.
There are no dogs roaming freely...

The Milan-Cortina Olympics have ended. 💛
I love sports, so I ended up watching it even though it meant losing sleep!
Thank you for so many wonderful and moving experiences 💛

Even though the Olympics have ended, the World Baseball Classic (WBC) baseball tournament will start on March 5th.
Go Samurai Japan!! (^^)/~~~

The matches will only be broadcast online, so I subscribed to Netflix so I could watch them on TV. Subscribing was easy on my computer since I already had Wi-Fi, but watching on a large-screen TV required purchasing and setting up the item shown in the image on the right (an antenna and remote control set that plugs into the TV), which was quite a challenge! 😿
Another thing is that we used to watch it on WOWOW.
The broadcast of the US Women's Golf Tournament has been cancelled and it will now only be broadcast online. I signed up with U-NEXT and set up the program so that it could be watched on TV from 10 years ago, which was just as difficult as the above and made my head hurt.
My husband and I are in our 80s.

The remote control attached to the new TV in the image on the right
Setup is easy, just enter your Wi-Fi password. You can connect up to four devices, including TVs and computers, within your family.

With this thorough preparation, many Japanese people will compete in America again.
I can watch the LPGA, so the excitement continues ヽ(^o^)丿

A first-time visitor in the garden in the middle of the night!?

What was captured on the nighttime security camera was...
It clearly looks like a raccoon, doesn't it?
I identified it by the stripes on its tail. I don't think anyone in this community keeps one as a pet, so I wonder how it ended up at my house! It's a mystery!
IMG_5519_edited.jpg

Even though it's September, I'm still using the air conditioner from morning till night. How long will this heat last?!
But I did change the tablecloth on the dining table to an autumn version.

All the tablecloths featured here are 30 to over 10 years old. I enjoy using different combinations depending on the season! 2025.9.5

🍓 I received strawberries 🍓 from a friend again this year!

The strawberry farmer said that this year's harvest was over and told the farmers to "feel free to pick as many as you like."
These are super sweet strawberries

Thank you again this year. (Link to last year's article)

Since they're all large this time, it would be a waste to make jam with them.

I'll have it for dessert!

I replaced my water filter again this year.

This water purifier from Meisui requires replacement once a year.

I received some freshly picked vegetables!

You can make daily side dishes with these vegetables. For the "new onion," peel it, make incisions, microwave it, add butter and soy sauce, then slice it again and add bonito flakes and soy sauce...
Peas can be used in miso soup or as a side dish in simmered dishes.

Broad beans can be boiled in salt water and served as a snack... you can eat the skin too.

Last night I enjoyed boiled broad beans with dumplings, a tomato salad, and wine while cheering on the World Table Tennis Championships being held in Dubai, so I forgot to take a picture of the dinner table (>_<) 2025/5/22

Two recent problems solved.

The first is that the sound on my desktop computer has stopped working, and the second is that I can't understand the contents of TV dramas unless I turn up the volume.

The item in the photo below solved this problem. My daughter brought it over the holidays because she had bought it but hadn't used it. She even set it up for me.

My husband has the volume turned up high when watching sports, and I have the volume down on my TV, so it's hard to hear what's going on in dramas and such.

It was a source of complaints.

This sound partner is worn around the neck.

I can understand what's on TV even while doing housework.

It's excellent.

I had given up on my desktop computer ever having sound, so I'm incredibly grateful to my daughter for letting me listen to YouTube and music on a big screen again.

Thank you 🌹

Removing this will switch to the TV's built-in audio.

I was able to move the "Homepage Editor" from my desktop PC to my laptop PC.

When Windows updates, it becomes 24H2 .
The "editor" is no longer displayed, and other things I registered on the internet also need to be registered again before I can use them, and each time...
I switched back to 23H2 , and this has been the cycle for the past few months.

After much trial and error yesterday and today, I finally succeeded in migrating from my desktop computer to my laptop, and now I can create this blog using an editor! (^_-)-☆

During the initial glitch, this visitor counter disappeared. I was able to restore it to the New Year's screen that was there before it disappeared, but the articles I uploaded afterward were lost. I've recreated some of them.

Also, importing photos requires reading the camera's disc into this computer...
Last fall, at the age of 80, listing my company on the stock exchange was just too much of a burden for me .

"Pollen dispersal status"
I thought we'd had a string of warm days until yesterday, but today it suddenly turned back to winter. I had the heater on all day. The wind was so strong that it woke me up in the middle of the night, and this morning there was a swirling mass of pollen on the tiles around the entrance. It looked even more yellow than in the picture.
As someone with hay fever, just looking at it made me sneeze uncontrollably! (March 16, 2025)

Tablecloth replacement
Today was the warmest morning of the year so far. On days like this, I like to change the tablecloth to one with a cherry blossom pattern...
The fabric is thin, so the cherry blossom embroidery isn't clearly visible. I used a 3mm thick acrylic sheet as the tabletop. (March 10, 2025 )

These adorable children's bowls. The children who used to stay with us have all grown up and no longer need them, so they've become candidates for decluttering.

There are no young children in my neighborhood, so I can't offer it for anyone to use...

🎎Hinamatsuri🎎
Since my daughter left home, I've only been putting up the Hina doll display occasionally.
How should I dispose of it now...?
My daughter doesn't have a room to display the Hina dolls where she lives, which has been a source of worry for me. However, the other day, I saw a news report featuring a collection of donated Hina dolls. I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of them, and I felt a little relieved to know that there's a way to do this.

Happy new year
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year.
 2025.1.1

I ordered my New Year's feast online again this year!

This is an Osechi (New Year's feast) from "Sanzen-in no Sato" in Kyoto, and it comes with New Year's Eve soba noodles.

My family loves this flavor. It's delicious!

"Nigori-zake" (unfiltered sake) is a must-have during the New Year's holidays.

Everyone in my family is a heavy drinker, so we all enjoy our favorite alcoholic beverages.

Flowers and Kagami Mochi will be available on the 30th.

Prepare it together with the mochi.

The " new wine " I reserved has arrived!
I became a fan of Takahata Winery in Yamagata Prefecture after receiving it as a souvenir from a friend several decades ago . 2024.10.23

This is the delicious new sake that just arrived.

IMG_4650.JPG

This wine comes in a cap instead of a cork, so I drink it occasionally and prefer it because it's easier to store with the cap.

Even though it's a low price, the aroma and richness of the grapes are amazing!

I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

There is still some wine left.

The mystery of "flush toilets" continues...

In early August, I did a little cleaning (I didn't touch the electrical system).
It has become an automatic flush again, and it still runs every time. This is the solution.
2024.10.15

I called the manufacturer today and asked them "Why did this happen ? "

I found out that this toilet has an automatic flushing function from the beginning.

It seems that the contractor who installed the device did not set it up properly.

After 13 years, the battery died, so I replaced it and it started flowing automatically.

"It must have gone back to the original setting," I was told.

What was the reason for not being able to use the automatic flush for the last 13 years? LOL

IMG_4628.JPG

For a mini-clean, clean the ceiling, walls, and floors.

Wipe with a Karcher

It blows hot air so it's clean.

In the photo of the remote control, there is an "Auto Clean" button, but the light is off except when you press it, so I don't know if it's set or not.

My friend brought me so many more treats! She's a really great cook, and I'm always so grateful for the delicious food♪
 2024.9.9

I received some unusual vegetables.

Its name is Kinjisou (金時草).

Or Suizenji greens (Suizenji greens)

The top of the leaf is green, and the underside is reddish-purple.

Enjoy it as tempura or in a light broth.

She made a stir-fry of cucumber, ginger, and chili peppers for me.

It's very delicious.

It pairs well with both wine and sake.

The pot contains freshly picked blueberries .

I've never seen berries this big before. Since there are no tiny seeds inside, they're delicious and easy to eat, whether raw or in jam!

"A wagtail!?"
After I uploaded the article about the Oriental Turtle Dove below, I looked around my garden and lo and behold, there was another bird! So I took a video. What a coincidence! 🌻
I usually don't see much in the garden other than sparrows.

Where will it fly to after this?

There are fewer insects and butterflies this summer.

It was a rare customer.

" blackberries "
I made juice and jam.
2024.7.15
IMG_3686_edited.jpg

The photo shows the amount made in one batch.

The juice is about 2 liters .

Jam has a lot of seeds, so I strain it, but I can only make a small amount.

Dilute the juice 4 to 5 times.

The photo was taken with ice added, so it's four times larger than it actually is.

I drink one glass of this juice every day

It is beneficial for eye health.

IMG_3675.JPG

Put the ingredients into the enamel pot

Add enough water to just cover the contents.

Once it boils, skim off the scum.

Simmer over low to medium heat for 10 minutes.

*I set it up so that the recipe would open via a link.

The tags were displayed, but I was unable to open them. I apologize.

"Blackberries" have produced lots of fruit again this year.
I drink it as juice every year. I drink one glass of this juice every day and my eyes are healthy.

The harvest might be earlier this year...

We can always harvest a lot of them around the time the rainy season ends.

This is about the amount for the first harvest, so I'll rinse them, drain the water, and freeze them.

IMG_4425.JPG

This tree is only fertilized with compost.

The only pest control method is to spray bamboo vinegar once before the flowers bloom; this will keep most insects away.

IMG_4423_edited.jpg

When the fruit turns black, it grows much larger than the red fruit.

I will share the juice recipe at a later date.

I went to the doctor... I had a certain pain and it took a week for the pain to subside.
✿This isn't a quiz, it's a serious question...✿
2024.7.9

Last Tuesday night

It's a part of my body, and this is the third time I've experienced pain there.

① Last time, I was told, "If the pain returns, please come to this department," so I searched online and went to the hospital on Wednesday , but I was told, "You need a referral letter, and even if you make an appointment, it will take a month," so I gave up that day.

Off to the next hospital...

② The second hospital saw me without an appointment.

I was told, "It's been about six months since your last painful episode, so surgery probably won't be necessary," and I was given painkillers before going home.

Patients waiting for a doctor

Images are from Wix Free.

③ This Saturday was my appointment with my regular doctor, and I had run out of pain medication. I told the doctor that the pain wouldn't stop even when I took pain medication, and he prescribed pain medication and stomach medicine.

Then they wrote me a referral letter to a pain clinic at a general hospital. But the pain clinic is only open twice a month.

The painful area started to swell on Sunday night , so I applied a compress. On Monday, I called the hospital where I had been treated for the first and second pain episodes, explained the situation, and they agreed to see me. They treated me and gave me a thorough explanation of the antibiotics. After taking the painkiller I had taken previously and these antibiotics, the pain subsided, and I was finally able to sleep painlessly at night.

They wrote me a referral letter to hospital ① to investigate the cause of this pain. I'll make an appointment tomorrow (>_<)

🍓 I received lots of strawberries from my friends! 🍓
I made my favorite strawberry jam! (^^♪ 2024/6/4
IMG_3551.JPG

I received a huge pile of cardboard boxes containing 4 packs each.

You can eat them as a snack, or share them with your neighbors.

I made jam before so much of it spoiled.

IMG_3553.JPG

Wash the strawberries, drain the water, mix in sugar and mash them a little.

Simmer over medium heat, removing any scum that rises to the surface.

Add lemon juice and it's done.

IMG_3555.JPG

When pouring it into a jar while it's still hot, use a spoon to pour it in.

I've been making Caspian Sea yogurt from scratch for years.

IMG_3568.JPG

Caspian Sea yogurt

Set to 37℃ and 8 hours.

For the milk, use a rich variety like raw milk 37.

You can make 2 liters at a time.

Once it's ready, add 6 tablespoons of starter culture.

I will reserve it for you.

The mystery of "flush toilets" ... what's the deal with them? I've been pondering this lately.
After 13 years of manual flushing, it's now automatic!
June 23, 2024

After the New Year, the batteries in the toilet that I replaced 13 years ago ran out, so I replaced them.

Oh my goodness... I'm so surprised... it's an automatic flush toilet!

I didn't buy this second-floor toilet because it's an automatic flushing toilet.

I've been using it by pressing the large, medium, and small buttons the whole time.

But then, when I turned off the heated toilet seat, it stopped flushing automatically!

I immediately read the instruction manual and tried setting it up as instructed, but it still wouldn't flush automatically.

Well, I thought it had just gone back to how it was before.

Also, recently it's been playing automatically from time to time.

That's really bad for my heart! (>_<)

Especially when it plays while I'm using it in the middle of the night ( ;∀;)

Meisui water purifier cartridge replacement 2024.5.25

I replace the cartridge once a year.

I received a call from Meisui-san one month before the exchange deadline.

I will send it to you.

IMG_3399_edited.jpg

Replacing it is easy! Simply unlock the inlet and outlet, pull up the slider to remove it, and replace it with a new one without spilling any water. The replacement is complete in just a few minutes.

I also use this to wash rice and vegetables.

The water is odorless and even tastes sweet.

IMG_3407.JPG

The replaced cartridges will be recycled.

There's a shipping label, so just put it in the box and send it back.

IMG_3412_edited.jpg

Among the items that were returned when we recycled the previous year...

The photo shows activated carbon on the left side.

This activated carbon is made from recycled materials.

Previously, the one on the right, "Kaabo-chan," was inside.

I still have it on display because it's so cute.

It probably no longer has any deodorizing effect.

Autographed caddy bag by Ai Miyazato (May 10, 2024)

This golf bag is

Ai Miyazato went on an American tour, for the first time

This was signed and sent to me after she returned from the Women's British Open. I wonder how many years ago that was!

IMG_3259.JPG

The father had been asked by his daughter to "replace the grips."

Looking at the golf bag I had left in the hallway...

Ah, I suddenly remembered.

Because I saw Ai-chan's autograph.

Until about 5 or 6 years ago, I used to display it in the alcove.

Since it was several years old, my daughter started using it, but then the pandemic hit several years later.

I had stopped going golfing (my dad went a little though 💦).

IMG_3260.JPG

The reason we have it at home is that in the year mentioned above, there was a student competition, and before that, a charity competition was held , and

Goods were provided by male and female professional golfers.

I participated in that competition and won it at auction!

An autograph from Ai Miyazato ✿✿
I went golfing with my family on May 5, 2024.

Today is Children's Day, and my daughter came home for a visit, so we enjoyed a round of golf as a family for the first time in a while.

The "XXIO Dream Cup" (only morning scores are included)

There is a competition

Something incredible happened to me after I participated in it.

IMG_4367.JPG

This is in Tochigi Prefecture

"Yaita Country Club"

The course includes gentians, thistles, and bellflowers.

There are three courses, and they are beautiful courses with varied terrain.

IMG_4363.JPG

I'm registered for the morning competition.

Enter the scores of the three players after each hole on this screen, and the score sheet will be displayed.

It was incredible!

(New Peoria system)

IMG_4369.JPG

After finishing 18 holes and coming up completely exhausted, I saw the competition results displayed.

And guess what, in the women's division ...

They won .

I came in 6th place out of 66 people overall. Yay!

IMG_4360.JPG

Today's weather is calm and summery, with no wind in the morning.

It was so hot! (>_<)

We're waiting and chatting because the group ahead of us is taking a long time, but just like the highways are congested during the long weekend, the golf courses are also crowded.

IMG_4361.JPG

It's been a long time since I last played golf.

I'm amazed that they now guide you through the course on a screen like this.

It will tell you "how many yards are left."

IMG_4379.JPG

The grand prize is a XXIO golf ball.

It was signed by seven female professional golfers. From the top

Yamashita Pro, Koiwai Pro, Sakurai Pro, Suganuma Pro

Aoki Pro, Iwai Akie Pro, Iwai Chisato Pro

I can no longer use this ball.

I'll display it 💞

I decluttered my piano. 2024.5.1

My daughter has been away from home for over 20 years, and even when she comes back, she gradually stops playing the piano. I'm wondering how to declutter and get rid of it...

I consulted with the person who had been tuning my piano every year.

Thank you for introducing me to a company that can take my piano.

I successfully decluttered my belongings.
