Roses and various flowers

IMG_4234.JPG

From May 2024, we will be introducing roses blooming in the garden and flowers that go well with roses.

The way to grow and care for them is explained by a professional gardener.

Leave it to our homepage

I'll just write down whatever comes to mind, so please look forward to it.

🌹The roses are starting to bloom🌹

This year, the flowers started blooming earlier than usual, but when I look closely, the shape of the flower seems to be incomplete. Perhaps they bloomed too early!!

IMG_5000_edited.jpg

The rose arrangement has been updated this year.

When someone asks me the name of a rose, sometimes I can't remember it right away, so for the past 30 years I've been compiling it like this photo, with the name, planting date, where I bought it, and the color of the flower.

Usually, the flowers bloom sporadically depending on the variety, but this year they all bloomed together .

For about 40 years, the flowers that have been planted in the garden of this house have taken up residence here and bloomed every year. I would like to introduce some of them. They have been inherited in various ways, such as from scattered seeds, divisions, and perennial plants, but they have multiplied again this year. 2025.5.2

Last night, it started raining in the evening, and the forecast predicted it would rain heavily during the night, so I was worried about the peonies that had just started to bloom, so I tried making a rain shelter out of a blue tarp. This morning, it worked just fine - it was my first attempt!

Protected by the blue tarp, the buds from yesterday have already begun to bloom.

"The red berries are a gift from the birds!!"

It's even hotter today than yesterday. I was weeding the back of the house when I was surprised to see red berries popping out from between the corrugated metal of the arcade and the stone wall. I couldn't pull them out by hand so I tried cutting them off at the base with scissors.

This little tree has so many red berries

I was surprised to find out

Today has been warm like early summer since the morning. The weather has finally become calm and windless. I sprayed some diluted wood vinegar on the new rose buds to prevent aphids from taking up residence there.

I went to a home improvement store to buy some household goods, and found these cute flowers at the entrance. I decorated the entrance to my house with them.

A few years ago, a single plant bloomed, but I don't know where it came from, and now it has multiplied in a small space and bloomed again this year with beautiful colors.

When I was a child, I saw this flower in every house. Now that I have a shorter tree in my house, the flowers are not as vibrant, but the color is still vibrant.

Christmas Rose
To protect the flower buds from the cold, I left the old leaves as they were without pruning, but as the flowers started to bloom, I cut off the old leaves, leaving about 5 cm from the base. The leaves were covering the plant, so it looked cramped when it bloomed. 2025.3/14

Because ground-planted Christmas roses bloom facing downwards,

I couldn't see the pattern so I floated it in water and took a picture.

The camellia Wabisuke has started to bloom. The pink "Wabisuke" in my garden continues to bloom from November to April, while the white Wabisuke only blooms for a short period, from January to February.

The colors still aren't coming out well.

I planted it in place of the withered "Catherine".

↑ Tsuru " History "

It started dying from scale insects three years ago.

↑ FL " Gold Bunny "

This is the third generation. The second generation did not grow well and did not flower well, so I planted it again just to be safe.

I had decided that I would not buy any more roses even if they withered.

The rose is the most prominent part of the garden, so I broke my vow.

Other than this place, I promise to turn a blind eye to it, just like withering away.

My climbing rose Catherine has withered.
It has continued to bloom for 21 years. Thank you♪
2024.11.1
IMG_2593_edited.jpg

This flower was in full bloom two years ago.

It is the largest rose in my garden.

The flowers bloomed like cherry blossoms.

The reason for the withering is that when the plant grows thicker,

This was caused by the creation of nests by insects and ants.

IMG_3241.JPG

This rose is 130cm wide x 70cm long.

It was a small space with just blocks and soil, but the seedlings were only about 1m tall, so I planted them without thinking about how big they would get.

IMG_4640.JPG

How did the roots grow after they withered?

If you dig deep enough, you'll be amazed.

It's amazing how it has taken root in such a small space for 21 years, and produced so many buds and bloomed every year...

Wild Petunia

A few years ago, when I went to Ueno Garden in Hokkaido,

I bought seeds for 15 different kinds of flowers, and the only ones left are this flower and the Shirley poppy.

Every year, from early summer to around November,

It grows taller and blooms while falling over.

This flower also grows extremely well from scattered seeds.

Every summer, the flower beds are filled with spilled seeds.

They do bloom, but last year and this year they were covered with weeds and I pulled them out.

There's a little bloom in the corner

The flowers come in many colors and are very cute, but you can't remove the seeds.

And yet it is a mysterious flower with a strong life force.

Giant Tail

When the flowers die, they turn into bonbon seeds.

Trumpet lily

A few years ago, a seed flew in from somewhere.

It has taken root in my home and is blooming.

When it blooms it is refreshing and pretty.

It keeps increasing year by year and it's a problem

To prevent seeds from forming after the flowers have finished blooming

I pick them, but they have a strong vitality.

Rose Cardinal

In the summer, I try to pick rose buds, but the shoots grow so high that I don't notice them.

The flowers bloomed in no time

Even when struck by thunderstorms, I keep looking up

To make the flowers bloom in autumn... 2024.726

Even in the heatwave, buds form one after another and bloom, but the flowers are very small.

If you allow them to bloom in the summer, the trunk will become weak, so I try to pick them off.

As the temperature rises, thunderstorms come and cause considerable damage to the rose bushes.

These beautiful flowers, which resemble fluttering butterflies or fireworks, may not be able to withstand the heat...
So at this time of year, the flowers bloom from night to morning. 2024.7.13

✿ Pruning shears

This is a useful item for cutting off rose branches.

✿ Handmade collection bags for cutting branches

The plastic container I used to put food waste in broke about 20 years ago, so I cut off the edge.

I made a long garbage clip into three legs, wrapped it in duct tape, and added a pruning shears holder, so it's more useful than it looks.

This is my invention.

New Dawn

2024.05.17

This rose was made two years ago by HT Andre Grandier.

I bought it, but in the first year, I had to pick the flowers to allow the branches to grow.

Last year, new shoots appeared from the plant and I thought something was strange.

This year, I was waiting for it to bloom, and it turned out to be the same flower as the wild rose blooming in the vacant lot. I feel bad for it, but I'm going to cut it down if it grows like this.

(It's growing so big in the middle of a small garden, there's no choice but to cut it down. (´;ω;`) Uuuu )

To those who come to see the roses every year

I was asked the name of a rose, but I couldn't answer right away.

That's how I started making them over 20 years ago.
